35th Annual Forest Heritage Days

Forest Heritage Days has been part of Greenville since 1991. For 35 years, it has brought together loggers, landowners, foresters, historians, people who work in the woods, people who recreate there, and anyone curious about the forests that built this corner of Maine — and still do. This year's event is the most ambitious we've put together in a long time. Come see why.
Thursday, August 6
History by the Lake
A free public presentation from the Appalachian Mountain Club, followed by a Happy Hour Cruise aboard the Steamship Katahdin. A good way to start the weekend.
Friday, August 7
By Water and by Land
The signature experience of Forest Heritage Days 2026. Cross Moosehead Lake on the Katahdin or travel by bus into an active timber harvest — then converge at the historic Lily Bay Storehouse for lunch. Limited to 100 participants.
Saturday, August 8
Community Day
American Legion's famous lumbermen's breakfast, then watch the Colby College Woodsmen team put on a traditional logging skills demonstration. Free and open to all.
